Otium Corpus (Oddred)

Quiet atmosphere and flesh offered in risqué underwears, almost clinical study of the body shown in a cold light, adorned with black plastic ribbons delimiting the areas of pleasure and keeping this woman eyes closed, a woman offered as an object of pleasure to the stranger, faceless masked succubus in a bare concrete underground place.

Interview with Oddred

What message(s) do you want to express through your work?

Sometimes, the meaning comes afterwards. It is nevertheless structured, but I like the worked again chaotic aspect. About the core of the meaning, I would express only the fantasy exploration of the animal, plant and mineral body.

Which artists inspire you? Who are your masters?

All of those that I see, listen to, follow… In a jumble: Flemish painting, surrealist pop, surrealism, street art, circus.
And to get closer to photgraphy, I would say Natasha Merritt, Terry Richardson, Joel-Peter Witkin, Chris Cunningham, Brassaï…

What have you gained by being on the internet?

A wider sharing.

Did the internet enable you to meet new models, to find new exhibit places?

Yes, sometimes, but not necessarily for the same photo projects.

Has your work ever been censored? If so, how did you deal with it?

No, or else I don’t know it yet!

What projects mean a lot to you at the moment?

To go on any visual exploration, with no boundary.

Could you tell us a few words about the place you live/work in?

Paris.
