Interview with Sylvain Lainé
A few words about his work, what it expresses and about him. My Belle Époque inspiration was born from the strength of the decadent romanticism of Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867) and his friends Félicien Rops (1833-1898). The pictures from this era I have taken up in my paintings are trips, symbolic dreams: the absinthe vapours drift away, and the enigmatic beauty of woman appears again to remind us that life is Love beyond anything else!
My first contacts on the internet allowed me to sell a painting at the World Erotic Art Museum of Miami. Now, online exhibitions really attracted my attention, as they allow to reach a worldwide audience and to go past any censorship specific to a given country.
Nevertheless, I do not abandon my big pleasure to exhibit every year my erotic paintings in one of the most erotic places on earth (see my website). Real performances…Words gathered in September 2008
