Slender and ethereal, Audrey Kawasaki’s young women have the clouded eye of an excessively languid sensuousness and the mouth hungry for coming kisses, and if they miss their arms, it makes only us willing of taking them in ours to tenderly cradle them there. Maybe it has something to do with the transparencies of their watercolors that let appear the light texture of their wood base, but her illustrations on paper share the same ingenuousness and the same lightness.
