Féminence (Paul Favaudon)
Interview with Paul Favaudon
What message(s) do you want to express through your work? Caring for the body liturgy, celebration of its light, transfiguration of the being, revelation of its hidden mystery.
Which artists inspire you?, who are your masters?
To translate with the utmost elegance, in the respect of the person and its dignity, while letting to the Model a total freedom, what makes the purity, transparency and transcendency of the female being.
A will to suggest that her body, and only it, can make visible what is not: spiritual and divine.I claim my membership of French impressionism. Is it a mere chance if I live 200 meters from the house where was born Auguste Renoir?
Did the internet enable you to meet new models, to find new exhibit places?Meeting new models? Some applications from abroad especially, but as I do not know those persons, and do not collect them either, I work with the few locals who can enter the logic of my poetry.
A little word about your technique?
Being invited to exhibition: the reply is yes. I will indicate those events on your site as they will occur. All my pictures are slides, on film, not digital, done without masks, nor special effects: a simple marriage, planned to show them on screen. The computer takes only place for scanning and digitizing them for the internet and other applications, like publishing.
Could you tell us a few words about the place you live/work in?Limoges has the charm and quality of life of a human-sized city. Limoges is located at the heart of an area rich of an exceptional nature: the variety and quality of Limousin’s landscapes are an infinite source of poetry to me. It is an easy thing for me to marry that splendid nature to the world most marvellous thing: WOMAN!
