Interview with LeeAndrew
What message(s) do you want to express through your work? The message I wish to convey is not so obvious to the viewer. In each piece I attempt to capture the essence of being male, his grace, spirit and beauty.
Which artists inspire you?, who are your masters?I would have to say Robert Mapplethorpe insipred me earlier and of course later associations with Herb Ritts, Daniel Nassoy of Paris, P. Micheal Perez of Los Angeles, Greg Weiner of New York and a few other talented masters.
What have you gained by being on the internet?Well, I believe that the internet offers the opportunity for an international assembly of admirers. It has been a wonderful experience for me and I enjoy the electronic communiques from around the world. I even enjoy responding to those who do not like the installations.
Did the internet enable you to meet new models, to find new exhibit places? The internet has aided in locating models and meeting interesting people. I do not offer as a rule my works for exhibitions. I find them too time consuming. However, they do serve a definite purpose for all artist to gain exposure. It is seldom if ever that I seek out such venues or accept invitations to do so. I am not an elitist, just too busy!
Could you tell us a few words about the place you live/work in?Although my main residence is in Phoenix, Arizona. I also live in France. I am based in the USA and Europe and travel alot taking photos all over the world.
